Here at Syntera we see the opportunity to make the world better and make a contribution to a great cause. We will allocate 10 million SSC tokens for philanthropic purposes. These tokens will be frozen out of market use and put on reserved use. Initially, we plan to focus on 4 issues.
Anti-poverty causes. Poverty is the scarcity or the lack of a certain amount of material possessions or money. It can mean complete lack of the means necessary to meet basic personal needs such as food, clothing and shelter. One third of deaths — some 18 million people a year or 50,000 per day — are due to poverty-related causes. Almost 90% of maternal deaths during childbirth occur in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, compared to less than 1% in the developed world. Rises in the costs of living make poor people less able to afford items. Poor people spend a greater portion of their budgets on food than wealthy people. As a result, poor households and those near the poverty threshold can be particularly vulnerable to increases in food prices.
Children Education. A good quality education helps children reach their full potential and fulfill their goals; however, for millions of children and youth in countries with low income, it is far beyond reach. Although more children around the world are going to school than ever before, many are not learning basic skills like reading once they get there. Education can be the catalyst needed to pull families and communities out of the cycle of poverty. Knowledge gives children the power to dream of a better future and the confidence needed to pursue a full education, which in turn will help generations to come.
Eye Surgery for 3rd world countries. Hellen Keller once said, “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” Humans have five basic senses: the eyes to see, the tongue to taste, the nose to smell, the ears to hear, and the skin to touch. By far the most important organs of sense are our eyes. We perceive up to 80% of all impressions by means of our sight. But we usually don’t think about our senses until an organ stops working. It is a great blessing for each and every one of us to be able to read, travel without problems, watch our favourite TV Shows and movies, and see the faces of our beloved people every day. It is not a secret that every person in the world deserves to enjoy these things. But what solutions people with the sight problems have? One of the most effective and popular one is eye surgery. The cost of laser eye surgery can range from as low as $299 per eye to up to $4,000 or more per eye. Just to compare, there are people whose average income is 1$ a day, and who also want to see.
Climate Change issues.
“A single speech, at a very opportunistic time, at the Oscar ceremony, resulted in the largest increase in public engagement with climate change ever,” John Ayers of San Diego State University told The Washington Post about the findings, which also insists grassroots are needed in addition to celebrities with causes.
In front of an audience of 34.4 million viewers, the actor used his role in The Revenant, about a man who has to survive extreme conditions in the natural world to segue into the matter at hand.
“Climate change is real, it is happening right now, it is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters or the big corporations, but who speak for all of humanity, for the indigenous peoples of the world, for the billions and billions of underprivileged people who will be most affected by this, for our children’s children, and for those people out there whose voices have been drowned out by the politics of greed,” he said.
After creating a consensus platform each member of Syntera community will be able to put forward his own solutions to these problems, and the other members will have opportunity to vote. The more SSC you have on your account, the more important your vote is. Probably, some people will find more important causes to donate. In our democratic platform every decision will be collectively made. Let’s make this world a better place together! Stay tuned!
